You won't believe what song plays in the test rooms
Mimosa and the Clocktower » Devlog
Happy Screenshot Saturday!
After needing to take a one-week break from the game, I am back with new footage and changes made for the game.
Here are some changes and additions I made:
- Those sky blue squares from the previous videos now have a function (and they’re also now invisible). If Mimosa falls into a bottomless pit, he will take one damage and respawns randomly onto a cliff where the pit is (I’ll change how Mimo respawns to such cliffs in the future).
- Proper animations for selecting and entering a room have been added. Because of this, I also added room transitions (There’s no transition-in for exiting to the world map via the pause menu because if I add it, it will crash the game).
- The world map now has music playing in the background. The song, named “Faraway” is composed by me. (Also the song that plays in the test rooms is merely a placeholder and will be replaced with a much better song)
- Added the Sproumbrella enemies. These buds use their sprouts to have a slow descent, which makes them vulnerable to breaths, but compensates with having more HP and running fast on ground.
- Re-added Jackies. So far, I haven’t finished their functionality yet (they’re meant to be checkpoints for larger areas), so check back soon-ish.
- Added save-and-load functionality. Because of this, the world map is no longer persistent, and the pause screen can now show up like it’s supposed to. Rather, saving the game or entering a level saves Mimo’s current position on the world map.
- Lastly, Mimosa can deactivate Doors of Time again. Yay!!
That’s a lot of things I’ve listed, huh? As a reminder, I’ll be on vacation by the end of May, so I’ll be doing some more changes by then. Anyways, have a good day.

Sea clocks, nursery rhymes, time manipulation, and... a baby dragon? (Currently under concept/prototype stage!)
